Why eyewear?

From a young age I was always fascinated by eyewear. The passion had been building since childhood. I remember once I lost a pair age 11 whilst fishing off the coast of Isle of White and crying for about a day afterwards.

What was the story/inspiration behind Taylor Morris Eyewear?

Charlie Morris and I conceived Taylor Morris through our shared passion for eyewear but also out of necessity. We both had worked in a night club and constantly had to wear sunglasses to hide our hideous blood shot, black eyes. Then one summer in Ibiza together we both lost a £400 pair we had. Deciding enough was enough after 3 bottles of Rose we came up with Taylor Morris as an affordable luxury brand for sunglass connoisseurs. The brand can now be found in luxury Stores like Harvey Nichols, and Harrods.

Which piece from the collections is your favourite?

I love the Raleigh. It’s so understated but so cool. We had an amazing moment last week when watching BBC’s Mc Mafia when the Mexican bad guy was wearing them on his boat in South of France.

What is the best thing about what you do?

Working with Charlie Morris. He has such an eye for style and design.

What advice would you give to young entrepreneurs who want to enter the fashion and lifestyle industry?

Go for it! We knew nothing about the industry the day we started. All we wanted to do was make cool shades and hang out. My only advice would be to have a good lawyer.

What does your typical day look like?

I like to live my life with a lot of consistency. Wake up, work out, eat right, lots of water, work hard. Then after about 7-10 days of doing that I feel I have earnt the right to have some fun and I set fire to the wagon and push it off the side of a cliff.

What is your most prized possession?

The love and support of my family.
